The Jam Tarts remain one point adrift at the bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership

There were plenty of Hearts fans who left Tynecastle on Saturday soaked and downbeat on the club’s chances of survival.

Daniel Stendel’s men had struggled to a 2-2 draw with 10-man Hamilton having gone 2-0 down within 16 minutes.

Regarded in some quarters as a must-win, there was an expectation that Hearts would give their survival credentials a huge boost with a confident victory over Accies who had a number of injury issues to contend with.

That wasn’t to be the case as the team were booed off.

The bookies, however, still have Saturday’s opponents Hamilton as odds-on favourite to finish bottom at 4/6.

Hearts are considered joint-second favourites at 3/1 with St Mirren. The Jam Tarts travel to face the Buddies on Friday night in another important relegation encounter.

With St Johnstone at 100/1, the bookies believe it to be a four-way battle at the bottom with Ross County 6/1.
